At Normal Phenomena of Life, we process orders once a week on Wednesday. This means that all orders placed on or before Tuesday of each week will be included in the batch for processing on the following Wednesday. Orders placed after Tuesday will be processed the following week.
Living Ink (Colorado, US) is a biomaterials company founded by Scott Fulbright and Steve Albers, specialising in algae-based pigment and ink production. The company has been on a mission to use sustainable algae technologies and replace petroleum-derived products with carbon-negative alternatives.
The bio-based black ink used in the process is grown from algae waste-biomass, a byproduct of a natural blue food colourant production called phycocyanin. In contrast to the conventional petroleum-based ink, it is renewable, non-toxic for the environment and carbon-negative.
